AI Usage & Billing
AI operations (Knowledge Base generation, AI Search, email summarization, and message summarization) consume your monthly AI usage cap. Understanding how this works helps you manage costs effectively.
How AI Usage Works
Each plan has a monthly AI usage cap (the maximum dollar amount of AI processing you can use per month). AI costs are calculated based on the number of tokens processed by the AI model. Your current usage balance is shown on the Billing page and in the sidebar.
| Operation | Description |
|---|---|
| KB Generation | Processing your data sources to generate Knowledge Base sections |
| AI Search | Answering questions by analyzing your KB content |
| Email Summarization | Pre-summarizing large email datasets before KB generation |
| Telegram Summarization | Pre-summarizing Telegram messages before KB generation |
| Slack Summarization | Pre-summarizing Slack messages before KB generation |
Monitoring Your Usage
The Billing page shows your AI usage dashboard with:
- Current balance and monthly cap in a visual progress bar
- Detailed usage ledger showing each AI operation, its cost, and timestamp
- Payment history with all past invoices
What Happens When You Hit the Cap
When your AI usage balance reaches your monthly cap, AI operations are temporarily blocked. You will see a notification suggesting you upgrade your plan or wait for the next billing cycle (when the balance resets). You can also pay your current AI balance immediately from the Billing page to resume operations before the cycle resets.
The cost estimate shown during KB generation (Step 2 of the wizard) helps you predict how much AI budget a generation will consume before you start.
