Assigning Tests

Once a test is ready, open it and use the Assign panel to send it to one or more recipients. KnowStack supports two assignment modes: internal employees (who already have a KnowStack account in your workspace) and external candidates (who receive a link via email).

Internal Assignments

  • Pick team members from your workspace -- only users with the appropriate permission can be assigned
  • Each assignee gets a bell notification and an email with a link to start the test
  • They take the test while signed in, and their identity is pre-filled

External Candidates

  • Enter the candidate email address -- no KnowStack account is required
  • An invitation email is sent with the test metadata: title, time limit, estimated questions
  • The candidate clicks the secure access link, enters their name, and begins
  • If they close the tab, they can resume from the same link as long as the deadline has not passed

Each assignment gets its own snapshot of the questions at the moment of assignment. Editing the test later does not affect tests already in progress.

Removing an Assignment

If a candidate withdraws or an assignment was created in error, you can delete it from the Assignments tab. Deleting an assignment invalidates the candidate's access link and removes the associated responses.
