Version Management
KnowStack maintains version history at multiple levels, giving you full control over your Knowledge Base evolution.
Knowledge Base Versions
Each time you generate a Knowledge Base (whether fresh or iterative), a new KB version is created. You can switch between versions using the version selector dropdown in the left sidebar of the KB viewer.
- The version selector shows all KBs with their name and creation date
- Click on any version to load it
- Your most recently generated KB is shown by default
- Old versions are preserved -- you never lose previous generations
Section History
When you edit a section, the system automatically saves snapshots of the previous content. You can view and restore these snapshots using the History drawer.
- Open the section you want to check.
- Look for the History button or icon.
- A slide-out drawer opens on the right side showing all saved snapshots with timestamps.
- Click on any snapshot to preview its content.
- Click 'Restore' to revert the section to that snapshot's content.
Section history snapshots are created automatically every time you save edits. This acts as a safety net -- you can always undo changes even after saving.
Renaming and Deleting Knowledge Bases
- Rename -- Click the 'Rename' button below the version selector to change the KB name
- Delete -- Click the 'Delete' button to permanently remove a KB version. This cannot be undone.
- Create New -- Use the 'Create New KB' option in the version dropdown to start a blank Knowledge Base from scratch
