Creating a Test

Tests are created from the Operations dashboard, on the HR Tests tab. The creation form captures everything the AI needs to generate a useful, scoped assessment.

Configuration Fields

  • Title and description -- shown to candidates on the landing page
  • Source Knowledge Base -- select one KB; questions will only reference its content
  • Sections (optional) -- narrow the source further to specific sections for a focused test
  • Question count -- how many questions AI should generate
  • Question type mix -- enable any combination of multiple choice, true/false, short answer, and essay
  • Time limit -- total minutes candidates have to complete the test, 1 to 480
  • Passing score -- the percentage required to pass, default 70%
  • Shuffle questions -- randomize order per assignment to reduce answer sharing

Once you submit the form, a background job starts generating questions. The test stays in Draft status until generation completes, so you can review and edit questions before publishing.

Editing Generated Questions

After generation, every question can be edited: change the prompt, rewrite answer options, mark a different option correct, or delete questions you do not want to keep. You can also add manual questions alongside the AI-generated ones.
